Post Earthbound-SNES Review
NOTE: The following review is part of my big review update.

Name of game: Earthbound
System: SNES
Japanese title: MOTHER 2
On VC?: No, but on Mother 1+2 GBA pack, which is where this review comes from.

Often known as one of the famous RPGs by fans, Earthbound is a RPG (Like Final Fantasy and Pokemon, people take turns battling creatures), but this one was the first to break the "mold" of medieval creatures in games. (Except Earthbound Zero, which did not make it to america, which is another review I will do). The plot is where your hometown, Onett, has a meteor crash near Ness's (Yes, this is the game Ness from Smash Bros. appears in) house, and he goes to investigate, he then meets 3 other friends and they have to battle to get to Giygas, alien leader.

The good parts of this game:

The plot. It is a bit silly, but it is a fun game to play over and over, and one of the ideal RPGs to play.

The battle system: A bit simple like Final Fantasy, but it is more complex than it's prequel, which is a reason why this game is good. The PK attacks are detailed, compared to the prequel in which it would just flash, this one shows actual fire, freeze, and lightning attacks, as well as others.

The music: This game has a lot of good music. The music in the background of the battles/locations make it seem realistic, and it also sounds nice, too! Though in the Japanese GBA port, it will often annoy you.

The bad:

Nothing much, Earthbound's system is great enough that I don't feel it needs to be listed as anything BAD.

So due to this, I feel Earthbound deserves a 9.5 from me. The plot is a bit cheesy, but other than that, it is a great game that everyone should try if it comes on the VC.
